The Israel Museum
On Saturday I visited the Israel Museum with two of my roommates. Although much of Jerusalem is closed on Saturday for Shabbat (the Jewish sabbath), some museums have limited hours for secular people so we took a cab downtown to check it out. The Israel Museum is a combination art museum/history museum/national museum, with exhibits ranging from 2.000 year old scrolls to surrealist modern art. Some highlights of the trip included seeing the Dead Sea scrolls and the Shrine of the Book -- being so close to something with so much history was incredible.
